<p>Does anyone have leads on any cheap affordable motels/hotels located near to IU. Specifically nearer the Southern region of the campus.</p>
<p>travel lodge is the cheapest in bloomington.</p>
<p>Also, anyone have info on Econo Lodge and Country Hearth Inn? How close is it walking distance to the campus?</p>
<p>I don't think either are close. I stayed at the Courtyard by Mariott which was downtown by the city hall and the shops, that was nice. Close to dining as well. I also stayed on campus at the Union. I looked at the Travel Lodge, it looked like a dump though, or "not nice". But you're paying 1/2 as much for it.</p>
<p>how is the motel 6? is it close to the campus? i think there is a bus route right next to it that went into the IU campus thats why i picked it and also because most of the other places were full.</p>
<p>My campus map shows that there are 5 hotels west of the campus within walking distance. The Courtyard by Mariott, the College Motor Inn, the Scholars Inn, and the Hilton Garden Inn, all are on College Ave. . The Grant Street Inn is closer than all of htose, it's a block from campus. Then you have the IMU which is smack dab in the middle of campus. Every other hotel/motel you will have to drive onto campus, or walk more than 10 minutes to get there.</p>
<p>If you can get the courtyard by mariott it is really nice. That's where I stayed, too. It's less than 5 mintues to Kelley or Admissions Office.</p>
<p>less than 5 minutes in a car I should say, I'd say 15-20 minute walk.</p>
