I’m taking my son to look at Pitt in a couple of weeks. Any recommendations on where to stay? Prefer to be able to walk to/from the school if possible

I’ve stayed here twice. Basically on campus. Have fun!
Thank you!
@carachel2 Any other thoughts here?
Hey there! So there are now two hotels on the Pitt campus:
The Wyndham as mentioned above and the new Oaklander boutique hotel is right next to the Wyndham. It looks really nice! I’m sure it’s spendier than the Wyndham.https://www.theoaklanderhotel.com/
They are both literally right next door to where your campus tour will start so the location is great. Have a good visit! You didn’t ask, but dinner at The Porch is great and a good sit down meal on campus. Then you an walk down to Phipps Conservatory. Have a great visit…my daughter says they are having great weather.
We stayed at the Wyndham on campus and it was fine. We are headed back in a few weeks and I was looking for a recommendation as well. Maybe something in a “fun” area of town?
@burke1098 we love staying in Shadyside. We’ve done an AirBNB twice now and had great experiences both times. Such a nice walkable neighborhood.
You’re going to be there at a great time of year. You should go to the Falling Water house in Ohiopyle!
I don’t know about lodging but I second having dinner at The Porch!
Breakfast at Pamela’s Downtown is fun too.
And i happen to like Primantis.
I really like Pittsburgh. Have a great time!
There are lots of hotels. We have stayed at the Residence Inn on Bigelow, they had a shuttle that took us to campus.
There is also the Hampton Inn.
Both give a Pitt discount I believe if you ask for it when calling to book a room.
Just stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn- University Place at 3454 Forbes Ave.- less than a ten minute walk from the Cathedral of Learning, with lots of great places to eat along the way. Recommend Pamela’s Diner for breakfast!
