I’m looking for hotels outside of Tuscaloosa for a home game weekend. Is Birmingham/ Hoover the best option or are there other locations that would be recommended and have reasonable room rates? Thanks!

Birmingham/Bessemer is the closest. Hoover is not too far past that and has a lot of options. There just isn’t anything closer. You could go down to Meridian MS, but that’s 1 1/2 hour away. Jasper, due north of Tuscaloosa, is a small town with several hotels (including Hampton Inn) about an hour’s drive over 2-lane roads. Little traffic, though.
Not for a game day but we spent a few nights at the Greystone Inn in Vance two years ago, and it was nice and only about a half hour from campus. Not sure what reasonable means for game days–it’s all relative!
