<p>Recommended hotels near WP? Not the Thayer, preferably within 10-20 minutes.</p>
<p>I love the Marriott Courtyard in Newburgh. On the big weekends there are a lot of WP folks there. And a really nice day spa just a couple blocks away.</p>

<p>If you can get a reservation, it sure would be a handy place to stay. Shortly after I learned my CC had been accepted to West Point Class of 2010 (mid-May), I tried making reservations there for R-Day, A-Day and PPW. TOO LATE - They were already booked up though those dates! </p>
<p>I ended up staying with the Days Inn in Newburgh for those occasions. I stayed there during the 06' Sandhurst competition and was very pleased with the accomodations. The continental breakfast was pretty poor, but the manager promised that they would be improving on that. The morning view of Lake Washington is quite impressive if you are fortunate enough to get a room on the east side of the hotel. There are many fine hotels in the Newburgh area as well as many fine eateries. The trip to West Point down Route 9W from Newburgh is quite impressive as well and takes about 25-30 minutes.</p>
