hotel school admission

Heya.. so did anyone who applied regular decision get into the Hotel School yet? If you did, what are your stats? Cause.. I'd like to know if I've got a fighting chance =p

nope, have not heard anything yet.

but stats are 2310/34 on SAT/ACT with 4.0, pretty impressive EC's but nothing spectacular. so we'll see. good luck

Hah..I wish I had a 2310 on my SAT. Yeah, I mean.. I guess a lot of people haven't heard anything yet, so I'm not incredibly worried or frantic. Are we supposed to find out this Thursday or the 29th?

Oh, and has anyone kept in contact with their interviewer?

It seems like no one here has a clue (neither do I :( )

I applied regular decision to Hotel School and heard back today. I submitted my application on the last possible day and had mediocre stats... but i got in! Just basics: 2050/2400 SAT and 3.8 UW GPA, with significant hotel experience. I'll post more extensive stats in the Rolling thread later tonight. Goodluck to all, hopefully my acceptance on mediocre stats will ease your stress!

congratulations!

Those stats don't seem that mediocre to me. Im working with a 1970 SAT and 3.9 Weighted. I have significant retail experience with lots of EC and a few extenuating circumstances. I hope this bodes well for the rest of us!

Congratulations!

I'm working with a 2210 SAT and 4.0 weighted (3.5 unweighted) for ILR :(

When i said "mediocre" i was speaking within the context of CC. As far as Cornell goes my scores were all within the middle 50%. Hope everyone else has the same luck as me... I still cant believe I made it into such an incredible school!

ReadyToBeDone...congratulations! Just curious - what type of hotel experience did you have? What were your job responsibilities, etc?

So, if we don't find out tomorrow... then we'll have to wait until 3/29? -_- Lame.

After the interview, did anyone keep in contact with their interviewer?

So are the last batch of decisions for hotel coming out on tomorrow or the 29th?

i just called the --> hotel <-- admissions office and they decisively said that all decisions would be released on the 28th =(

28th or 29th?

is it on a rolling basis until?

general admissions office said 29th...said keep checking your online account

hotel admissions office said 28th...said everyone will be on the 28th

xxJustAMomxx- During the summer before my Junior year worked at a full service property as a 'Guest Service Aide' (more or less a bellboy), and during the summer before my senior year I transfered to a more prestigous property where I am currently a 'Guest Service Representative' (aka front desk associate). I'd say with confidence that my experience and reccomendations from some of my top bosses (VPs in one of the top hospitality companies) made the difference. Hope this helps, (PM me for any more info).

3.4 GPA, 1900 SATs, good EC's, and over 800 hrs at Hilton going to help me for my next year's chance in ED?

Thanks for the reply, ReadyTo Be Done. My daughter has been working at a prestigious, full service hotel for about a month now (she's a junior...couldn't start working much earlier because of school soccer and travel) in Food and Beverage (Taking room service orders, preparing shift reports, etc. Saturdays and Sundays) When she was hired they mentioned that she could get experience in different departments over the summer, so hopefully that will happen. She's the only person younger than 18 at the resort. Hopefully, this is the type of experience they are looking for!

Good luck to you, and thanks again for the reply!

Jimgotkp - not that im an expert in any respect, but based on my own experience and general knowledge of the hotel school id say the Hilton experience will give you a reasonable shot. 800 hours-- so like 2 summers working full time? Just be sure to get a good reccomendation from someone at the hotel.

yeah 2 summers. 1 was at hilton, the other was at marriott. same thing so i just said hilton.
