I am an applicant to the Hotel School, and I am not too sure about its admissions process. Would any of you please clarify whether or not it employs a rolling admissions? If it is, when should I expect to receive their words (I just had an interview on Saturday)?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I am interested in the hotel school for next year (i am currently a junior), and i was just wondering how the interview was and what it was like.

As a student from a supercompetitive/prominent school, I wasn't sure if Hotel School and its reputation in the real world would satisfy me. However, after having the interview with a recent alumna, I am certain that Cornell will be the right school for me.

Anyway, to answer your question in more detail, the interview was semi-informal. My interviewer, as aforementioned, recently graduated from Cornell; I had an off-campus interview. Thus, she was rather inexperienced and resorted to reading straight from this Cornell "Interview Packet". However, I was able to answer all of her questions, and she seemed to understand why I really wish to go to Cornell. By the end of the one-hour interview at her office, she successfully convinced me why Cornell and the Hotel School is the right fit for me. Ultimately, she said I am an excellent fit for Cornell, let alone any Ivy League school.

Also, some of the questions she asked were:
1) What were some difficult job experiences you had?
2) If not admitted to Cornell, what would be your alternate option?
3) What kind of books do you like to read?
4) How do you envision your college experience?

I hope this is helpful. Good luck.

ANYWAY, anyone who can answer my question about the rolling admission thing... please do so! Thanks -
