Hotel School: How to maximize chances?

Hi,

To keep this post short, I wish to know please how to maximize my chances of transfering into the hotel school. This program did not interest me until recently.

I am currently an engineering student (weird eh? i know). My GPA and SATs and other "marks" should be enough to transfer. My most notable ECS are starting and running a marketing research firm (feel free to ask for details), establishing the town youth council (working with both the city council and many notable non profits) as well as organizing a series of seminars on entreprenership and a summer camp. I also sit of the board of a few advisory committees.

My only problems are 1)my curriculum and the hotel school are as distinct as venus and mars. 2) The only "work experience" in the hospitality industry is in working with a few clients that run restaurants.

Any suggestions (sorry its rather late and night and i'm quite tired).

get a job in a restaurant/hotel/hospital or maybe at the statler if you can? Try and have it complement your hospitality goals. If you want to run a restaurant later on, don't get a job at a hospital... so yea, work experience seems to be the big thing. and practice talking to people you aren't familiar and confortable with if you're not the most outgoing type.
