hotel school interview

So I applied regular to the hotel school and had my interview back in the fall. It didn't go badly but it wasn't the best either. I was really nervous and all since it was my first interview, but i was wondering if the itnerview could hurt my chances.. Cause aren't interviews supposed to be at least somewhat beneficial at least? thankss

i would think that because it is a required portion of the application, and because hospitality administration deals with interpersonal skills, the interview is MORE important for this school and for most other schools. However, I don’t think it will be a huge portion of the application.
If the portions of the application were like this:
-SAT/ACT
-SAT II Math
-Course Rigor/Grades/Rank/GPA
-Interview
-Essays
-EC’s
-Hooks

I’d say interview takes up about 10-20% of the decision. That’s just my opinion, i could be wrong. Hope this helps.

As an ED applicant I’d say interview at hotel school is very different from other colleges at cornell. Interview is among one of the most important factors in hotel admission. Not so great interview could possibly keep a perfect student out of hotel school, but certainly it cannot if the applicant were applying CAS. I got in with only average test scores (my gpa was high though) but very strong interview performance, internship at a hotel, and a great interview.

BUT everything could happen. Sometimes YOU didn’t feel so great about an interview, but the interviewer felt great. That works too. GOOD LUCK!!
