hotel school transfer question

hi everyone, im trying out for hotel school for this spring, and im deathly worried cause my gpa is seriously, beyond imaginably low. its about 2.8. i have an amazing rec ready to go, i have a top notch work experience, and im ready to kill the interview. but however, despite these three factors, would 2.8 gpa shut my chances down?

…not looking good. It’s Cornell.

2.8 is really low…and it certainly won’t help you when you’re competing against thousands of applicants who also have amazing recommendations, tons of relevant work experience and do very well at their interview.

even though all the relevant courses like hotel courses were all A’s while the GE courses like math, science, history classes were the one that i got really low grades on? ehhhh, i dont know now :(

sorry bud but there is very low chances here. i was denied twice by the hotel school as a transfer applicant, and had very strong work experience and extra currics. gpa was 3.4 and i worked really hard on my essays. i know that the hotel school puts more emphasis on gpa and sat than many of the colleges within cornell. be prepared for a denial but it’s worth a shot.
