<p>Good interview- talked about my passion for industry. Interviewer even gave me a little tour of the hotel school afterwards. My only problem here is that I forgot to submit my picture when I went for the interview. :(</p>

<p>You look like a strong applicant. Basically, as long as your essay shows passion and your reccs are good. there is nothing that adcoms can really complain about. haha</p>
<p>I don't know... I think my verbal scores are way too low for Cornell. I also forgot to mention that I'm asian, which probably does affect my chances.</p>

<p>Bearcats: You really need to persuade adcoms that you are REALLY INTO AND PASSIONATE about Hotels. That is what they make their decision based on mainly. You really need to spin everything in that direction. Good Luck</p>
<p>I don't want to be a terribly rude or mean personb but you actually had a better shot at the Engineering school. That is not saying that you are not worthy of the Hotel School, but I know for a fact that if they see any family ties in Hotel/Hospitality, they judge you a lot more vigorously on how well you took advantage of your connection. And an internship over Christmas break will only help you if you truly convince them that you desire a life in hospitality.</p>
<p>but if i dont tell them about my uncle? they wont know...we dont hav the same last name..it's my uncle on my mom's side
btw i switched to hotel just coz they probably would show some more mercy on my super low GPA becoz i think they are more lenient in that department for hotel school</p>
<p>I'm sorry but by now I am probly sounding like a complete a$$. The only reason people tend to have a lower GPA in the Hotel School is because they make it up with extraordinary experience and passion for the industry. I wish I could say most of this stuff without sounding so mean.</p>

<p>i think my essays were good, they showed a lot of passion for cooking and the restaurant industry. i have one pretty good rec and one dec rec, both of which point to the hospitality industry. whats killing me right now is my lack of experience.</p>
