Hotels - Aug 24 to Aug 28 - for move in week

Any suggestions on mid-range hotels?

There have been threads on hotels before. I will try to find the link. Hampton Inn on St. Charles is "just down the road" and has free parking. We are staying there for move-in due to the parking. Other times we have not/will not have car. I had no trouble making move-in reservations, but I did it quite a while ago.

It was already difficult a couple months ago to get reservations for Parent Weekend if you're considering that.

A site I like to use to find hotels is-
http://www.neworleansonline.com/

I don't book from here as I like to find the cheapest rate possible, something that can be found on the hotel's own website sometimes. But I do like to search for available here. I thing the rates on this site are usually the same as you can find elsewhere, but I still like to be anal and check other sites!

Drury inn and suites on poydras. You have to pay for parking, but your kid can go to and from campus on the streetcar line for 1.25 each way and its a short walk to the french quarter. Thats good for you, mom and dad, because while your kid is out exploring the uptown college scene, you all can enjoy the cultured (or uncultured) parts of the quarter.

use www.bigeasy.com. we got a 59% discount on our hotel for the "green wave" orientation rate.
