hotels by campus

Can anybody tell me a hotel that I can stay in that is also near the campus of UIUC? If possible, contact info?

there should be a link in the visitors page for UIUC that lists all the nearby hotels. there is a hotel across the street on university that is a short walk away from the quad..hampton inn?? i dont remember

stay at the illini union if you're just a high schooler doing a campus visit, itll give you some freedom from your parents if you just wanna wander off.

yea i was about to suggest that but am unsure of the condition of the rooms, i mean the buildiing itself is extremely old and from 1 picture i saw it looks like a 1920's victorian style bedroom, not exactly my idea of comfy. right when i saw it the first thing that popped into my head was "ax murdurer!" its I BELIEVE $99 a night?

I stayed at the Illini Union in February, and the rooms were fine...the same as any other motel, i.e. motel 6 or red roof inn.

thanks for the suggests guys. but i think this: http://www.historiclincolnhotel.com/

is better since it's way cheaper $64 compare to Illini Union $94

the illini union is all about location though... if you're a high schooler visiting for just a couple days to see the campus atmosphere it'd be sweet living right on the quad with your room window looking across the quad at foellinger. also if you are in high school and visiting... please don't do it during the summer, the place is dead during the summer. heres an idea: do it during the first couple weeks of school during rush, bring a friend, and go to some parties (you're too young to go to the bars).

I'm just here for the summer registration.

oh screw that, just sleep in your car.

i actually didn't even go cause I'm out of state.

then how the hell did you register? anyways, I don't drive. If I did. I would have drove the day I register instead of having to go there the day before.

I didn't even make a visit to Illinois until summer registration last summer and I thought it was fine once I started school and all.

Visiting a school is overrated. All schools will have their good and bad to them. No school is perfect.

then how the hell did you register?

telephone with my advisor

Did you still have to pay the 97 dollars?

Damn, how I do I schedule to do it over the phone?

i think i technically had registration the day before school started, so i had to pay what everybody else paid, but 97 bucks seems steep. I still had my classes picked when everybody else did, I didn't have to wait till my registration date to register for classes. Talk to your academic adviser about it and maybe have a reason figured out ahead of time why you can't drive down.
