Hotels for Graduation weekend

Hey Guys,

I don't know how many ppl still check this sub-forum... but I was wondering if you guys are starting to look into hotel reservations for graduation yet? I heard from some people that we have to make reservations pretty early as the hotels do tend to fill up.

I am trying to figure out what hotels are good.. u guys got any suggestions?

i think u should post in the main forum, nobody checks this section. the latest post in here being today just caught my eye, so i happened to check it. you'd probably get more responses in the main Duke forum. And sorry, but i cant help you because im a prosective class of '13 hopeful.

Well, I know the Millennium and im 99.9% sure the WaDuke are both booked already.

My parents usually stay at the Durham Hilton, which is about 10, 15 minutes from campus, but I believe they said rates there were like, in the 250s, 260s.

Personally, my parents haven't made reservations yet because everywhere is requiring advance payment and rates are really high, and, well, my dad is just lazy. BUT I'm on top of them every weekend telling them they need to ASAP! Almost all of my friends already have them.

But yeah, the Durham Hilton is nice...not exactly sure where it's located though. I think there's also a Marriott in Downtown Durham, although I'm always wary of that. I think my fam is going to try and stay in RTP, as there are various hotels there and it's not too long of a drive. Rates seem to be lower as well, in the high 100s.

But yeah, I'd say go ahead and book sooner than later...sooner being in the next month or two.

See, now this is a relevant post to this sub-forum. I hadn't actually given any thought to this yet but I do know my parents always stay at the Holiday Inn on Guess road when they come to Durham. I have a sibling graduating high school at the same time though so I'll really only have one family member coming but I hadn't thought about places filling up.

Oh yeh, and while I have heard that the WaDuke fills up really far in advance I would think that something like the Holiday Inn would have a little more leeway.

alrighty thx a bunch guys!
