We are going to visit U of Maryland March 5th and 6th. I know it’s going to be a busy weekend because there’s an open house. Does anyone have any hotel suggestions near the school? Last time we stayed in D.C. Thanks!
Two options - if u want a straight shot down route one directly from campus, the Hampton inn college park is probably the best of the lot. Does offer aaa discount. Next to an IHOP also. The others really are not so good…unless u want to pay big $ for the Marriott conference center, which I never do.
However, if u don’t mind driving literally less than an extra 5-7 minutes, stay in greenbelt at Hilton garden inn or Marriott resident inn ( a parking lot away from each other). Very clean and nice, less $ and offer aaa discount also. While technically further from campus it sometimes is faster since it puts u lower down on route one (closer to campus) so less less lights/traffic to fight getting to the main entrance.

and whatever you do, do NOT miss getting the ice cream made on campus…the dairy was moved to stamp student union for convenience
