I'm probably going to visit @ Colgate on March 24. Does anybody have any reccomendations as to which hotel I should stay at for the night before?

The Colgate Inn in downtown Hamilton couldn't be any more convenient; the Wendt University Inn is very close to the campus. Most of the other convenient options are Bed and Breakfast type facilities. You can find many suggestions in the "visiting the campus" portion of the Colgate web site.

Okay... I read through the list myself a few weeks ago, but there seemed to be so many. I'll probably end up at the Colgate Inn downtown :)

Thanks

the wendt university inn is also very nice

The Colgate Inn is far and away the best place to stay. I stayed at the Wendt last weekend as the Colgate Inn was full- it's a renamed Best Western that's noisier than all.....Lawrence Inn is a B & B very close (small but nice), Hamilton Inn has some rooms but it's not right on campus.

As far as I know, the Wendt was never a Best Western.

All of the hotel listed here are fairly expense. If you're willing to drive a little more, you can find one for much less. The Colgate Inn, for example, is way over priced.

ok, it's may not have been a Best Western, but that's what it is like.
Syracuse is 45 minutes away. When we had a messed up reservation for parents weekend, we stayed in Syracuse.

Norwich is closer than Syracuse and has an ok selection of hotels. My parents have stayed there. Utica wouldn't be that bad there.

Avoid the food at Colgate Inn....bleeccchhh. Except for the Tollhouse pie :) Don't take up their brunch offers. Eat elsewhere in town.

Wendt is pretty good- my grandfather, notorious for staying at very clean places, was satisfied with his visit.
