Hotels near Georgetown?

The Georgetown website lists a bunch of hotels. But I'm not sure exactly where they are. Could anyone help by telling me which hotels might be within walking distance of the university campus? Thanks.

Georgetown Conference Center is right on campus, next to the hospital. Key Bridge Marriott is located at the end of the Key Bridge, just across the river from campus. We usually stay in Rosslyn (Courtyard, Residence Inn, Holiday Inn, Hyatt)…once again just over the bridge and about a 10-15 minute easy walk to campus.

We were unable to find one that was reasonable priced and within walking distance. We stayed at the Best Western Georgetown Suites, which is a good hotel, but NOT walking distance to Georgetown University. It is near Dupont Circle and across from the Ritz Carlton. We took a cab to the campus and took the (free) Dupont Circle shuttle bus back.

Be warned, the Holiday Inn Georgetown is not near Georgetown and was not a very clean hotel. (I’m being nice here). The shuttle to American, where son was attending a program, would drop you on the other side of campus where we needed to be. We stayed at this hotel because we thought we’d be able to sneak a quick visit to Georgetown U while there and get a free ride to AU. The room was not clean and the food was horrible.

Wound up taking a cab to campus, at least less than 20 for the two of us, and also took a cab to the national harbor for dinner, again, less than 20 for the two of us.

Split a cab with a parent, about 40 for the two of us, to Union Station, so could take the MARC to BWI. That was much cheaper than the Super Shuttle that son and I took from the airport.

Just wanted to pass that on because I got sucked in by a nice website and misleading name. Beware!

Thanks, everyone. This is all very helpful information.

we stayed in dupont circle and took a cab. I liked hotels ,com because it gives you distance, price, pictures and reviews.

Washington Suites Georgetown----nice hotel, good prices sometimes (depends on the time of year), each suite is basically a small apartment, right on the bus line.
