We are planning to visit the college a second time, as Northeasrtern is my sons top choice. Our first visit we stayed at the Hilton Back Bay, but it was very expensive. We liked that area and it was close to the t-stop. Any suggestions for a hotel that is more moderately priced that is close to Northeastern? Thanks!

We stay at the Marriott Courtyard Brookline. 5 min car ride to campus, nice neighborhood, right on the T.

There's also a Hampton Inn that's reasonable and close. It's not an interesting neighborhood but very convenient.

I have stayed at the Hampton Inn...the neighborhood was a bit sketchy for my taste. The last time I was there I stayed at The Midtown. I was apprehensive as there are some bad reviews of the hotel out there but I found my room clean and adequate for my needs. I didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel. The location is great, right on Huntington, walking distance to campus, T stops, etc. The parking is free.
I considered the Marriott in Brookline but didn't end up there. Good to know about it too.

We've stayed at the Marriott at Copley Place-its a fun, busy place to stay and I think we were able to negogiate a lower rate.

I was contemplating staying at one of the B&B's in Brookline, since they are close to Northeastern.
Fair prices.. I have stayed all over the place in Boston, from mid-range to low end ( Parker House , Marriott Copley , Doubletrees, Courtyard...
I am thinking about hitting priceline to get a good rate for Feb when they have the welcome day for admitted students.

We love Hotel Commonwealth, you can also ask for the AAA rate, dont' know if you have a budget, but we have stayed there at times for 200ish, and its a fabulous 5 star, very luxurious hotel. You cna check it out on their website, it's practically across the street from BU, and a quick taxi ride to Northeastern or a long walk. Have fun!

I had forgotten all about the Oasis Guest House!
Another time I went out to NEU, I stayed there. Good price, great location.
Pasted from an old link on my travel web forum:

One other option is the Oasis Guest House, which is located in the East Fenway, next to the Northeastern campus. It's nice, and reasonably-priced, too:

We've stayed at the Marriott Courtyard South Boston a number of times. We reserved rooms for February for about $130 per night during the BeanPot weekends. During the summer or fall move-in weekends it was about $160-180 per night. Free airport shuttle, free parking, wireless internet & within walking distance to the Andrews Square T-station.

I booked the Marriott in Cambridge for the welcome weekend. We got a rate of $87 a night
Priceline !!
