Hotels near Rutgers?

i'm an international student and i'm gonna take the placement test on June 1st or 8th.(bothersome...!) and i'll spend a night before the test day. are there many hotels around or near Rutgers?? how can i get to Rutgers from JFK airport?? train?

lol im pretty sure you can have them arrange an exam where you live most probably online so you dont have to fly in just to take it. call them and ask. if not, then from JFK you’d go south to New Brunswick (i dont know exact directions obviously but idk like 287 or the GSP south would get you there). there is a hotel near rutgers as far as i know. again call RU and ask them to set something up for you

you mean i can take the test here in KOREA???
well i really hope that i can !! ohhhhhhh…

To get to Rutgers from JFK, you can take a bus to a subway (the A train) that goes into New York City [I forget what the bus to the subway is, but it’s not hard to figure out]. Get off at 34th Street, Penn Station. In Penn Station, which is a very large train station, find New Jersey Transit. There, you can buy a ticket for New Brunswick. You may have to transfer once (not sure), but it will be pretty clear. It should take about an hour from NYC to New Brunswick. You can check NJ Transit.com for details. But FIRST, check and see if you can have a test in Korea. What kind of placement test are you talking about? I can’t imagine. If you’re talking about the SAT test, they must have that somewhere in Korea, at online testing centers. Also, if you do come to the U.S., it’s MUCH more convenient to get to Rutgers from Newark airport. Good luck!

Oh Newwark airport? all right.
i mean the Placement which is mandatory to all Rutgers freshmen and transfer students.
i already took SAT and submitted my scores to Rutgers!
do you think people can take the placement test overseas? i think it’s not a good idea to make interntional students come to Rutgers just to take the test! they don’t buy me tickets or let me stay just one night before taking the test! this sucks.

i think korea is 200 miles or more away from rutgers…just a thought.

From the SAS Office of Academic Services page:

“If you live over 200 miles from Rutgers, you can make arrangements to complete the testing by asking your guidance counselor to proctor the placement tests at your high school or you can arrange to take testing on campus if you anticipate visiting during the spring. To make such special arrangements, please contact April Pagano, Rutgers Placement Testing Coordinator, directly at 732/932-8445 or pagano@instlres.rutgers.edu.”

Cool, you got it worked out =)

It would have sucked to travel all the way to Jersey for one day just for a test =D
