<p>Dropping my son off Aug. 30 but his brother's b-day is Sept. 3 so we are thinking of staying overnight on the 2nd. Any recommendations?</p>

<p>The Days Inn is nice and just as block or so off campus. The Nittany Lion Inn is right on campus, but more expensive. For the budget minded, Motel 6 just two or three miles up the road.</p>

<p>It's no longer a Hilton, just the Atherton Hotel. Still nice and a block to campus.</p>

<p>There's always the PSU owned hotels - Nittany Lion Inn and the Penn Stater. They could already be booked, though. There are two newer hotels one exit up from PSU on the 322 bypass @ Williamsburg Square - Hampton Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn Express along with an Outback and Olive Garden restaurant. Restaurants are conventient but guaranteed to be packed on arrival weekend. A gem that is privately owned is the Autoport - a little less than one mile from campus on Atherton St.</p>

<p>Speaking of already booked-- there is a home football game on the second. If you don't make a reservation soon, you could be out of luck.</p>

<p>AAA has a pretty good list.
Sleep Inn, Days Inn and Hampton Inn are all convenient.
Ask for the Penn State discount.</p>

<p>Nittany Lion Inn. Right on campus, walk to everything and you do not have to worry about parking.
Also, there are links to all the area hotels on the psu website. And yes, do it quickly if there is a game that weekend.</p>

<p>There are a number of hotels about 10-15mins from the campus, I'd definately look into those since those probably aren't booked yet.</p>

<p>Autoport another good one but as mentioned before your chances of getting anything within a 50 mile radius is unbelievably slim with a home game on the plate. </p>
