Hotels walkable to Cornell Campus

I would like to visit Cornell over the next couple of months. Problem is, I am one of those weirdo's without a driver's license -- grew up in the city.

Can anyone recommend a CHEAP hotel walkable to the campus. I'll even take a divey place to save money. Or maybe a downtown B&B.

Thanx for any ideas!

The Statler is situated right in the middle of campus. There’s also a Holiday Inn near the Commons, where you can take a short bus ride up to campus.

Statler is NOT cheap. :stuck_out_tongue: In my opinion, the Holiday Inn is your best bet.

haha I didn’t see the cheap requirement

^haha I was like “Statler…umm, what has this kid been smoking?!” Statler is a really nice hotel though…just a bit on the pricey side.

There used to be a (very) budget motel on Stewart Avenue in lower Collegetown, and another one in upper collegetown on College Avenue, don’t know if these are still there (though I think so). Not only are these walkable, but they could give you a good idea of what a typical upperclassman “commute” is like. But they are not five star lodging, to say the least.

There is a Best Western not far from campus that at least used to offer shuttle service to campus, one way at least, you might check.

Quite a few of the hotels in the area offer shuttle service. Check this list: [Where to Stay | Admitted Students](http://admit.cornell.edu/cornell-days/directions/where-stay) Some of the places with shuttles for Cornell Days may not offer that year-round, but it would be worth asking.

I personally like the Marriott Courtyard and I think they have a shuttle. Also Best Western could probably shuttle to campus, and it’s not an impossible walk and maybe even on the busline? The Ramada and the Homestead Suites near Pyramid Mall, likewise on the bus line.

The Holiday Inn on the Commons is probably less than a mile from campus and the walk back to the hotel from campus would be fine but the walk to campus would be a bear (it’s all uphill - a steep hill). I’ve stayed at the HI a couple times the last few months and it’s fine and has great access to downtown … just a tough walk to Cornell … not sure if it has a shuttle.

talk to your guidance counselor and see if he/she knows of any former students from your school that might be willing to house you for a night or two …but hurry because exams are coming up…check the schedule on cornell.edu academics…

there is also the TCAT bus service which runs constantly. A hotel near a bus route that can get you to Cornell would work too. The hotels could probably tell you if they are close.

The Collegetown motel on Stewart Avenue I mentioned is Hillside Inn. The other one was Collegetown Motor Lodge, at 312 College Avenue. It appears not to be around anymore but you might check better than I just did.

Alllegedly the Best Western is a mile from campus, but you might verify that.
