<p>Can anyone recommend a decent hotel near the school .</p>

<p>so many to choose from… Marriot on North Campus is great and run by UD students… it’s a little pricey depending on the times but not terrible in price. I’ve stayed at the Embassy Suites across from the football field and it was good. My all time favorite go-to is the Holiday inn Express on Christiana Road, (273) right near 1-95 in Newark. It’s about a 5-10 min ride to campus right down 273… you literally make no turns and it spills you onto Main Street. Super clean, great staff and decent breakfast… rates are reasonable. You can also call them and they have a University of Delaware rate they can offer during most times except parents weekend and graduation. Also another good one… Another good one is just opening… another Holiday Inn Express… It’s on Elkton road in Elkridge Maryland. brand new construction and only a few miles away… probably even closer than the other holiday in… another direct route into campus as well. I’m thinking of trying the new holiday inn in December as my son and niece are heading home Dec 5th and both don’t have to return for their last finals until the 11th… I might stay over that night in Elkton to try it out since it’s almost $50 cheaper than the Christiana road location… ($100 for the night… can’t beat it! ) </p>

<p>Another great option is the Comfort Inn which shares a parking lot with the Holiday Inn off Christiana Rd. We have stayed several times and always a nice experience. It was much nicer than I expected. The Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn both include breakfast. Comfort Inn Tends to be a few dollars cheaper than Holiday Inn Express. Have not tried Marriott yet but plan to in the near future now that I have my VIP (very important parent) card with 10% discount. We have also stayed at the Quality Inn which is near many other hotels, shops and restaurants and extremely close to 95. Was not horrible but was not the best but price was good. The Quality Inn was a bit further away. Also,stayed at Staybridge Suites. The good about staybridge was it had a small kitchen and parlor that was separate from the bedroom, the bad was the walls were paper thin and I was up all night listening to our neighbors having a great time with some friends. Apparently their sitting area was adjacent to our bedroom!
Your closest option is Marriott but the others are only a short drive.</p>

<p>My problem is my son just decided to graduate early. We need to go from Thursday May 28th to Saturday May 30th. Does anyone know anything about the Red Roof INN near the school. They seem to have availablity for those days.</p>

<p>I don’t know that one, but for graduation, we stayed at the Hampton Inn, which is in Elkton, MD, but very very close to the school.</p>

<p>I can give another “thumbs up” for the Elkton MD Hampton Inn. New and clean and Cracker Barrel right next door.
Very easy, less than 10 minute drive to the campus.</p>

<p>Sheraton South Wilmington is a few years old. !0–minute drive to campus right along the 95 freeway. They often have good deals on the sheraton site…</p>
