Hotels?

I understand the Acorn Inn is a nice place to stay, but can anyone suggest other hotels that are also decent and not too far away? Specifically we are looking for great places for audition weekends … you know the drill - it needs to be comfortable and calming :-)

Ramada is YUKKY. La Quinta too, but they take pets (we had a newish pup that we brought for parent's weekend once.) We like the suites, & have good luck outside of town when Burlington/Elon is full. Graham has a nice one & it's not too far. Orbitz has rooms when Expedia doesn't. Southwest has rooms when both Orbitz & Expedia don't, though they cost a little more. They count toward free flights!
Good luck & have fun!

If the Acorn Inn is not an option, I always stay at Hampton Inn in Burlington or Mebane. The accomodations are always nice and clean and they serve an ok comp breakfast. I don't bother using the travel sites, book directly at Hampton Inn website. If you have an AARP card or AAA you can get a decent discount.

I heard from a parent of a senior that there is a new ramada furhter west on the interstate. They were able to get several rooms for graduation since it wasn't well known.

As I've stated on another thread, the Acorn Inn is the ONLY hotel within walking distance of campus. The others, at Exit 141 from I-40 in Burlington, are several miles away and are not walking distance. Country Inn and Suites, Hampton Inn and Suites, and Courtyard by Marriott are all fine and are located at that exit. I know others who always stay at the Best Western at that exit and like it. A Comfort Inn is also located near Hampton Inn, both of those hotels at the south side of the Interstate at that exit.

We tried to make a reservation at the Acorn Inn for my D'd audition, but it was completely sold out, and so we stayed at the Country Inn and Suites instead, which was perfectly fine. You will indeed need a car to get you to the campus (a 5 min. drive), but that was the case for pretty much all her auditions.
