Hours of HW

How many hours of HW do you get? Please post your schedule with that, too.

I'm a SR.

Marching Band
Band
DE Human A&P
Alg II
AP Spanish 5
AP American Gov/Econ
DE Englisgh 101

5-6 hrs a night.

Last year I had:
Spanish 4
Honors Physics
AP Euro
AP Econ
AP English Language
AP Calc BC
AP Chemistry

I had about 2-3 hours that I actually did. Spanish 4 and Honors Physics I just did it in class. AP Euro was always just 30 minutes of reading. AP Econ we rarely had homework and I worked ahead. AP English we sometimes had like 1.5 hours of reading. Calc BC i mostly didn't do the homework (it was optional). And AP Chem we never had homework, it was all self paced.

We have A/B block scheduling at my school, so I really had 2 days to do all my homework.

I took:
A Day
Spanish 3
Chemistry
AP US
German 1

B Day
AP English Lang
Math Analysis
Video Comm. (1 sem)/Health (1 sem)
Seminar (Homeroom/Studyhall)

Because our classes were 80 minutes long, we usually had class time to get started on our work. Then on our B days, we all had an 8th period Seminar. I finished most of my homework in there. I very rarely had anything but reading to do at night and sometimes I'd still have math to do.

wabash, you are taking algebra II senior year??? i take that frshman

This past year:

AP Statistics
AP Physics
H US History
English 11
Orchestra
Pre Calc
SAT Prep
Health

about an hour at home.. I was able to get most homework done during school

Last year:
ap biology
ap euro
chem
spanish 4
research and expo/adv. novel (think honors/ap english)
pre-calc

Totally changed every night. On a rare (incredibly rare) day maybe none. The next day I might have 6 hours. But i'd say an average of 1-3

greenday **** and answer the question you pretentions prick, you!

he's a frosh. he doesn't know probably

^yeah, we need to teach some lesson to him... men's bathroom, after school, you know what I mean. lol, j/k

Anyway, answering to your question... I was a sophomore last year, and the school uses the block system.

1st Semester:
English 10 Honors
Acting
AP Chemistry
Spanish 1

About 2-3 hours of homework, but it's sometimes more because English was insane.

2nd Semester:
Spanish 2
Honors American Studies
AP Chemistry
Adv. Algebra

Less hw than the last semester, but I'd still say it was about 2-3 hours. I spent more homework time for AP Chem since materials have gotten difficult and the AP test was pretty soon.

This year, I'm taking AP Bio, AP USH, AP Lang, math, and organic chemistry, so I wonder how much homework I'm going to get... I assume 3-4 hours but if it's more, I'm ready for all-nighters:)

Oh, and to all upperclassmen, be nice to your underclassmen. And to all underclassmen, respect your upperclassmen!

yes, at my school no one can stand freshman, so don't ask really obnoxious/stupid questions

sorry i didnt know i was being rude. it was a valid question.....i didnt think it was obnoxious....and quitejaded, you need some therapy, you have a short temper.

long story, short

state mandated testing--never been good at math. the school stuck me in the "get ready to pass the test" class. I was in all honors otherwise. so now im taking AlgII my senior year:(

sorry if i came off rude wabash but there were no need for quitejaded to call me a prick, i feel that was out of line. i was not intentionally trying to be "pretentious".

greenday calm down. 1. you will butt heads with a million people and 2. I don't think he was even being serious. loosen up

hours of homework per night: >1 hr. most of the time, no homework.

junior + senior years: practically no homework. maybe 3 simple questions to do per week or something..

below junior year = piles of worthless homework..

no point posting my schedule since our curriculum is different to the u.s ones

I had also block schedule

A Day
AP US History
AP English Language
Music Theory (independent study)
University Prep (AVID like class)

B Day
Piano
AP Art History
Biology
Calculus 1

1-2 hours of homework every night. US History was all the homework I had pretty much, everything else was 10-15 minutes, and History was about an hour every other night.

Junior Year (Last year):

Spanish
English
AP American Studies
AP Chem
Pre Calc
Physics

I had about 4 hours of homework each night, but I always stretched it out by wasting time between doing assignments! Garr.. O well.. here I come senior year!! :)

2nd semester last year:
Calc BC
APUSH
Physics C
Honors Eng III

I had about 30 mins-1 hour of homework a night, mostly in Calculus. Usually I would do the other classes homework during school. I would never bother spending 4+ hours on homework in... high school.

True. If you manage your time right, why would you need to spend 4+ hours on HW every night?
