One of my jobs is proofreading various documents for a company, but I can't assign a specific hour/week value to it because I only do it when they need me to. For example, I proofread a lot in the late summer to prepare for the year and in the early spring for end-of-year documents but not as much during late fall or winter. Also, some documents take a lot of time to proofread, whereas others only take an hour. How would I explain this in hours per week. Since I am technically employed as a proofreader all the time, I'll be putting down 2006-present under "Dates Employed," but how do I quantify my work under hours/week?

I’m in a similar predicament: I’ve made quite a nice little bundle as a freelance musician (paid gigs) but work is extremely irregular and heavily dependent on the season.

Any help from others would be greatly appreciated.

Estimate to the best of your ability? Or, if possible, write # to ## hours…?
