BunsenBurner - that’s encouraging, in a way - at least things aren’t that off-kilter that a house that small goes for $450k!
Going to this open house on Sunday since it is in our complex. This is the highest price we have seen a unit like ours go on the market for. It will be interesting to see how much they get for it.
showmom858 - that is absolutely stunning!! Such a great blend of outdoors/indoors - elegant and not too huge! Wow!
Beautiful! But man, hard for a Midwesterner to look at that space and that price!!
I’ll be the outlier. It feels very choppy to me, with lots of different but very small spaces. Of course it may be entirely different once one is in the space.
I agree; lots of dodging and turning corners to get around the kitchen/dining area. The front door seems to open to the stairs and hall bath. And they staged with a small high top dining table because there isn’t really room for a larger one.
Nice high end finishes although I don’t think I would put that wall mural in a baby’s room - looks like a time portal!
Nice finishes, but 1300 sft or so and two stories? This is tiny for 3 beds and 3 baths! The kitchen layout would not work for me - I’m right-handed, and the sink has no countertop space to the right. I would have completely redone the kitchen layout!
It is definitely small, but my H and I have made this work for us. We love our location and will stay for a few more years. I’m just excited to see what this place sells for so we get an idea of what ours could go for!
The townhouse is pretty but would be way too small for us. I know it’s an unpopular stance here on CC, but I like having a spacious home. For one, DH’s business is based here, and he needs a large office space (has lots of aerial maps that he needs that are mounted on walls). A desk and a laptop doesn’t cut it for his business. In general, houses that have large spaces that can be used for offices tend to come with a lot of square feet. I stay on top of the cleaning and have a service that comes in every few weeks to clean, so it’s not a burden to me in that sense.
That said, I like the general vibe of this place. The black accents are very pretty imo.
1300 sft space can work great even for a family if all space is on on one floor. Stairs usually take up a lot of space… This looks like a very nice complex. hope the townhouse sells for what is being asked. Or some
more.
Half a million, 14 acre swamp, anyone?

The place previously sold in 2001 for $195k. It was described in that listing as:
“ Very Beautiful, Peaceful, Quiet Setting. Cute 2 Br, 1 Ba Country Home With Det 1 Car Gar/Workshop Complete W/White Picket Fence. Home Features Lg Open Great Room & Liv Room, Wood Stove & Lg Front Porch. Enjoy The Tranquility Of This 10.25 Acres, Walk In The Woods, Watch A Pair Of Nesting Eagles & Other Wildlife.”
Not sure why the acreage is different but the description definitely sounds like a completely different house.
I’m shying away from any listing that starts with “Bring your contractor…”
Lol. In just 20 years, it went from “very beautiful” to “bring your contractor” (not too mention a dozen of dumpsters, lol).
We could start a new category, open houses near me. Here’s one close by. Houses are selling at these prices even though this one is pretty ordinary. The two things that amuse me most in the description -
- is revered for its westerly sloped wide-street towards the Pacific, with breathtaking daily sunsets & picturesque ocean views,
True, but you have to walk three blocks west to get those views. No views from this house.
- . The jewel of this home. … enjoy year-round coastal weather in your expansive pool-potential backyard
Pool potential, LOL. We already have the pool, although one less bedroom and bath. We have 300 less sq feet of house but 2000 more sq ft of lot.

Lots of creative writing here!
“pool potential backyard” = worn out backyard grass
The first thing I thought when I opened this listing was “god it looks like a fire station”!

Then I saw the description
You’re not alone. We enjoy having room to be alone as well as space to share. Our version of downsizing isn’t the norm. We don’t indulge in expensive cars, clothes or jewelry, so the house is our big indulgence.
We lived in 500 - 900 sq ft apartments and a house early in our marriage and appreciate that’s not necessary now.
What’s black and white and red all over? A former firehouse! Massive garage indeed.
Did I miss the pole, or did they take it out?
Lol!! Do not see any poles either. I guess it is out! Bummer. Wonder if there is an open house. It will be a popular one!
