This is true but I think a change in window style would take away from the look. We talked about changing select windows but the truth was at that point we should do them all.
Unfortunately there were other flaws that made the house not a good choice - the search continues!

Check out this stunning remodel (the old listing pics are still there for comparison). The only thing that can’t be shown is the freeway noise… this house sits right next to a busy bridge!

Wow, that’s a stunner. I’m not a fan of the wallpaper, but that’s a detail. Too bad about the freeway noise.
That view is amazing! With the right windows you probably wouldn’t hear the highway noise inside.
The noise is deafening. We have been to that area… I’m not sure I would want to be outside that much.

Wow, stunning home! We have the same kind of roof on our house.
But you are right, the bridge noise would be a problem for me, particularly at that price.

Lovely house—too bad about the noise, especially at that price.
Sadly, the price looks quite reasonable… for that area!! One word… Medina.

Lovely house… but wow, $8 million dollars buys nice views but close to highway noise and not along the water.
There are a lot of other places that would be higher on my list for 8 million dollars, and I’d easily have 7+ million in change to use for other things.
I’m glad we’re flexible on where we can live.

If we’re talking expensive zip codes, how about Atherton, CA? Lots of pics of the 8-acre estate, but not too many of the actual home. No views for $100,000,000.

You could buy 106 acre lot on the lake with mountain views near me for $17.5M and build your own. These pictures are awful; why anyone would publish winter pics of this gorgeous area, I’ll never understand

Or a really “interesting” 16,000 sqft home with a 158 acre horse farm close to me for $10M. I love the barn, but the house may need a little updating

That house is a good example of why you shouldn’t go all-out with whatever today’s decorating is.
I wonder how many square yards of that blue carpet they bought. I like the color, but OMG – it should just be an accent color.

Wow. Those are all hideous, each in its own unique way.

Me too! Very cute. The Darth Vader house is very cool and quite livable as is!

My takeaway from this thread is money does not mean good taste.
