House in Helena AL with "A" Gates

There is a home in Helena Alabama, the entrance to which has a huge set of black wrought iron gates with a large crimson Bama A on each side. Does anyone happen to know who this house belongs to?

The O’Briens. I used to work with the wife. Sweet people. I love riding past their place

I KNEW someone on here would know! That was quick, too! Thanks.

Do you know if they have a special connection to the school or are just regular alums/fans?

Glad they are sweet. Was terrified of being hauled off in handcuffs for trespassing the whole time 2012 was yelling “One more picture!”

I drive past this home all the time! We live just a few miles from here. Here’s a link to a story done on the house last year. http://shelbyliving.com/?p=1142

Missread, next time NRDMOM and I will stop by your place for cocktails!

NRDMOM’s preferred drink is a lemon drop :)

If only I had known! Brunch with vanilla vodka lattes… Or i could have taken you to our local Italian restaurant and treated you to the best pasta, wine and dessert you can imagine.

^^^

Coulda used one after my weekend with 2012.

Can you say ‘Type A’?

I want to know how you ended up near me! I’m sure there must be a story. We aren’t exactly near the major road from BHM to Ttown.

One of my Chicago alum friends had posted a picture of herself outside those gates. When I asked her where they were, she told me a few minutes off the exit. Since were didn’t have any complaining kids with us, thought it might be my only chance to see it, so we did that detour on or way back to Atlanta.

Lesson learned: a few minutes off the highway in Alabama a few minutes of the highway in Chicago!

I’m sorry we missed you (and those delicious drinks). NRDMOM was not the only one who could have used one!

Not sure they have any special connections to UA, but I do know they are long time fans. We used to run into them at games when some were still played here in B’ham. J and I used to work together before she got married to D.

Here’s a photo of the gates for those of you who haven’t seen it in person.
