Which house is best for engineering student?
Try ISR (university housing) or Hendrick House (private housing). They’re close to the engineering quad, thus filled with engineers.

What is LLC (Living Learning Community)?
Parts of the dorms that combine residential life with academic life.

What is IRS?
The US revenue service. But I don’t know if that’s what you’re talking about. ISR however, is a residence hall.

Is there any close deadlines??
May 15 - deadline to submit your housing deposit if you want to get into one of your preferred dorm choices.

When do I have to submit bank statement or do I have to?
I don’t know about this one. Probably ASAP or when you arrive on campus. Check here: [U of I Admissions: Additional International Requirements (Freshman and Transfer)](Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions)

(I’m already accepted) When Do I pay the money to go??
Your student account will be billed with a semester’s worth of tuition, housing, and fees in September after you have already started taking classes. You’ll have a few weeks to pay it. Housing deposit ($150) should be paid when you apply for housing.

How hard is the placement test?? Can study for it??
They’re just testing for basic high school skills and it’s extremely easy. If you got into engineering, you’ll probably score high.

Do I have to take Math placement test even though I got 5 on my ap exam?
Yes. It’s quick and easy.

hmm didn’t you submit your financial statements when you applied? I guess you have to submit it before you get the I20?

Zealain thanks ![]()
AkshayM… I don’t know… But my status is like green card pending… I’m waiting for green card…I guess it’s in process…

^ I’m in the same situation. I applied as “adjustment in status” so I’m an international student, although I’ve lived in IL for almost 10 years!
I was not required to submit any financial or bank statements though, and I was able to get in-state tuition.
