Housing App

Can we fill out the housing app now even if we haven't accepted admission yet?

2nd the question

Bump.................

i want this answer too!! :)

i dont think so...dont you need your UCLA ID and 4 digit password for housing app?

... don't we have those already?

where are the current ucla students when we need them?!?!?! spring break..duh

No you cannot. Think with common sense. Do you pay for housing today, find out at a later date that you were rejected, and not be able to get a refund?

So it's not like UCSD where you reserve a spot?

is housing first come first serve? If i apply for housing early...then does that guarantee me a better chance of getting double (first choice) than a triple?

Yea i was just wondering if it was like UCSD's housing app situation. Anyone know for sure?

ooh there is first year students live chat on april 4th! from 9AM to 5PM . Next wednesday!

i don't think you sign up yet. anyways, ucla isn't on a first come-first serve basis. i think all freshmen are guaranteed housing, but the honors/AAP kids get the best dorms, and the rest get rooms at random (although you do get to choose whether you stay in a res hall or a plaza)

You will get housing and you will 95% chance get a triple. Seriously, all the doubles were taken this year, its worse than ever. You don't apply yet.

I remember during my year you could also reserve a spot like UCSD, but if you decide not to enroll here you would lose that deposit. There is no reason to sign up early though, so long as you make it before the deadline since it isn't first come, first serve. And the honors/AAP kids don't get the "best dorms"- its all random. You guys basically get the leftover places that no current students want

Yeah, jyancy is correct. bruinboy, I have never heard of priority for honors/AAP. Chances of getting your desired housing is the same even if you sign up now (assuming that you can) or on the last day.

namaste is on to something... What's the current date for the reopening of Sproul anyways?

Yeah, when I couldn't even get a double in the signup time, you know there's a shortage. Of course a select few are reserved for kids with disabilities and student leaders (who are not first years anyway). So you got a triple. Or if you're lucky, maybe a closet space single in Hedrick Summit, since a few remain there. (As in, less than 100)

so its not like UCSD in that you cant get a single by paying extra? is everyone required to at least room with other people:?

there are a few singles left but they arent true singles, they're the size of a closet. they will probably be reserved for kids who really need them. doubles are all gone unless you're an athlete or regents (even then i dont know, assuming from past yrs).

darn me and my antisocial tendancies!!!!! i want a single :(

darn ill probably end up living in the library then :( / :)
