I'm going to be transferring to Binghamton in the fall and I just filled out the housing application. Basically all they ask is which community is your first choice, second, third, etc. They don't ask if you would prefer a single or a double. What if I get my first choice, but it is a double? I would reallllly prefer a single. Can you appeal the decision?

My first choice is Hillside because it offers suites with singles. Does anyone live there? How is it?

If you get Hillside, you will get a single since they eliminated the doubles there (those are now called “super singles.”). If you get Susquehanna, there is chance of a double, but you will at least share the bathroom with less people. Everywhere else on campus is doubles or greater per room, except for medical singles.

Thanks for the reply. What do you think my chances are of getting my first choice? Is it first come, first served? Susquehanna is my second choice and Newing is my third, it looks like that one has some singles. I just don’t want to get stuck somewhere else.

Last I heard, there were whole apartments still available in Hillside. So there is definitely a chance of you getting your first choice.
