I have been told it is better to submit your housing application earlier to increase your chances of getting the dorm you want, but when i went online to submit my housing application, it wasnt much of an application. I just clicked a button and it said it submitted my application, is this normal? I mean aren't they suppose to ask me about my prefences about whether i want a single or a double or who i would like my roommate to be, etc..? If this is normal, when do i tell them what type of rooms i want or who i prefer to room with? Also do i even get to choose which hall i want to live in?

That’s all you have to fill out. You’ll get the housing contract later in the year after you SIR. That’s when you choose all your preferences and such.

When we were at Triton Day yesterday, they had a computer set up (probably had dozens of them) encouraging you to submit the basic online form w/out obligation to commit yet. It said you receive some priority for submitting early, but that was it. Everything else comes once you commit.
