I am transferring to Cal Poly next fall and I have accepted my admission offer. On the housing website, it says I should be able to start the housing application after accepting the offer on my portal. However it does not say anything on my housing tab. Is anyone else having this problem? Also, where would you recommend a transfer to live? Thanks
The online Housing Application opens on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 9 a.m.
Transfers: Housing is offered to transfer students in private and shared rooms in the campus apartments, Poly Canyon Village and Cerro Vista.
I am a transfer students as well. I am transferring in for Fall of 2016. I looked on Cal Poly’s website on the information available for on-campus housing and there isn’t much. I wonder what it’s like living on campus as a transfer? Is it worth it? Can anybody possibly provide me with more information to help me make my decision?
@mariplusplus thanks! I just got the email guess I was a little too impatient haha
@chris227 my best friend currently lives on campus in PCV, I also know a few people who currently go to cp and they all recommended I live off campus because of the cost, and they said it isn’t really worth it. However, most of the leases for fall are already signed so most transfers are stuck with on campus housing (that’s my situation anyway )
@chris227, the culture at CP is to move off campus after freshman year. The issue for transfers though is that they don’t know anybody in SLO. If you do, I’d seek their opinion. If not, then it’s really a strategy of how to meet people. You can always do an apartment like Valencia where they rent by the room and will pair you with other apartment mates. Be aware though that most all SLO off campus leases are for 12 months.
By the way, is anyone else’s housing application not loading today?
@srslykarla I didn’t have an issue when I filled it out this morning.
