Hey, does anyone know whether there are any benefits to submitting housing applications sooner? Like, are early-submitters any more likely to get their first choice or are all housing applications considered at the same time?

thanks for any info or advice anyone would like to suggest.

All housing is done at once after the deadline. Each applicant is assigned a random ‘lottery number’ and rooms are handed out in order of lottery number. If you have a very early number, your are very likely to get your first preference. A later appointment might mean that your first is already full but they continue through your prioritized preferences until they find a match. Very late lottery numbers might find all their preferences were already filled, then they will be assigned to whatever room types are still open.

Zero benefit to signing up early.

thanks a lot, that’s good to know.
