Housing as a transfer?

I was accepted as a transfer for summer session last week and would like to live on-campus to meet people. It seems other transfers who were accepted before me have been given supplemental housing or put on waiting lists. I haven’t even accepted my offer yet so I think I’d be in the same situation.
I had a bad roommate (triple) experience freshman year so living in a converted lounge with seven others seems risky. It also seems like off campus housing in state college isn’t the greatest or readily available. Any insight on what I should do?

Off campus housing is fine in State College. The issue is the housing rush for the following year happens around October/November. I signed my renewal lease for my apartment for 2016/17 back in October. At this point, most downtown apartments are likely fully leased, however some off campus places might still have spots, but theyre all commuter residences that youll need the CATA bus system to get to and from campus or your own car and a commuter pass.
