S2 received his housing assignment today (via UMN email). I was reading the information and when I saw his new mailing address, I felt a moment of sadness. After all these months of planning the big day is rapidly approaching.

He got into the honor's housing at Middlebrook. We live in the Twin Cities and his roommate is also from this area. I kind of wish his roommate would have been from out of state so I could have had him over for short holiday weekends. (assuming the boys like each other :p)

I hope he takes the initiative to be the first to contact the roommate. (older son waited until the last possible week and then the roomie called him)

^I know the feeling Kajon. D1’s book order from the U bookstore arrived today followed shortly by the Housing assignment e-mail. Makes the end of August seem a lot closer than it did yesterday!!

D1’s roommate is from somewhere near the Twin Cities (same area code as the college) and we’re hoping that’s a good thing. I imagine she’ll know the area very well, and we’re hopeful that she’ll be interested in meeting new people as opposed to just hanging out with high school friends. Either way…the countdown clock is in high gear now!!

s-1 from so.cal. got his today. Local from the burbs so s/b fun. Curious about how You knew which books to order for the classes. Are they listed on the class description?

On the bookstore site after being prompted for their student log in where you order, it instantly brings up a shopping list of books they need for their specific classes.
You don’t even have to search for them, you just select new, used, or rent for each one and then checkout.
It’s really convenient :D
