theres a shuttle stop right outside towers that goes straight to fitrec

Yeah, I’d use the BUS to go to the FitRec on weekends. But on the busy weekdays, I’d prefer to go downstairs and hop on a treadmill for a nice 45 min exercise instead of running along the Charles (esp. on the merciless winters). Too bad I didn’t take advantage of the “Exercise Room” last year in Warren.

yea that’s true, but u can still also use the exercise room in warren next year as it’ll be only a block from towers. i heard myles also has an “exercise room” which may consist of like, one treadmill, but ive never actually seen it. haha i’m also someone who has, shamefully, used the warren towers exercise room ~4 times and fitrec ~5 times in my 4 years thus far at BU.

Yeah, it just happens. I told myself I’d work out consistenly once I go to college and barely did. I think I went to the FitRec 5 times last year. I feel bad not taking advantage of the FitRec; it’s a really nice place no doubt. If it wasn’t for the 5-6 month long winter, I’d not be talking about this. Oh well, I guess I’d have to go to Warren :)

So what are the rules on electricity. I know that we cannot bring microwaves because of the old circuit system, but I am considering getting a big fan for my quad so it doesn’t get too hot and stuffy, heck if it comes to it, why not bring an air condition XD… jk

fans are fine, there’s something called the BU Lifebook that you can google that has the list of “contraband.” for example, you can not have ANY candles, whether lit or unlit, unless they’re the battery-operated one

Oh found it AliAngel [Boston University Housing](http://www.bu.edu/housing/services/furnishings/index.html)

Seems that fans are not allowed to exceed 12 inches in diameter. I am very surprised that they allow popcorn poppers though…

you could probably sneak in a big fan, not gonna lie

Does BU provide us with a day planner? I recall reading that somewhere…

yeah they usually do. but I thought they gave them out at Orientation?

SMG will be giving out planners after classes start, other schools I don’t know.

I got one last year from Orientation (CAS)

yeah I’m wondering if maybe they didn’t do it this year? any new freshmen know?

I didn’t get one (freshman, CAS). At least… I don’t think I did.

Hey AliAngel,

Did you find out if towers West is renovated?

wasn’t renovated :-/

is it possible to swap rooms now? (if we both agree to swap)
or do I have to wait until school starts?
thanks!

gotta wait til school starts. you can fill out a direct swap form. get em in your office of residence life

Sorry to be off-topic, but in terms of getting to know your professors, would you say it’s more common to speak with a lecture or discussion professor during office hours? Or does it depend on the professor? Thanks

^ yeah office hours is the best way to get to know the professor. most of my profs don’t even get to class before me and afterwards everyone is in a rush to get to their next class (profs included). get to their office hours early tho, or you might have to wait quite a while, esp before exams or paper deadlines.

btw, you usually don’t have professors for your discussion section (it’s usually a teaching fellow or assistant) except in certain cases (an honors discussion section).
