Housing Assignments Notifications

Hey has anybody recieved their Purdue housing assignments yet? I read on the website that they were supposedly mailed out on the 1st of June, yet its been over a week since then and nothing!

My son got a letter dated June 6 saying they are working on housing assignments. If he doesn't hear anything further before his Day on Campus, he should stop by Smalley Center for information.
An article, Campus preps for large class, at The Exponent Online <a href="http://www.purdueexponent.org%5B/url%5D">www.purdueexponent.org</a> says there are 7.715 incoming freshmen, and some may be assigned to temporary housing.

I just know I'm in Wiley...which was my last choice. :-(

Thanks folks. Just FYI, this is my sophomore year though, so hopefully I won't be squashed into temp housing! Though, unlike bonzo's son, I haven't gotten any letters at all. It doesn't matter, hopefully I'll get something soon...

I'm international and I got into Purdue Village which wasn't even one of my choices =O But I like it except for the fact that I will be sharing a room with 2 other people.......

sonic:

Is it a room designed for 3 or is it 3 people squished into a room designed for 2? Thanks.

Well, it's designed for families with young children, so I guess 3 people should be comfortable in it. The rooms are big, but what I don't like is that all 3 of us will be sleeping in 1 bedroom.........

The room plans are here: <a href="http://www.housing.purdue.edu/HTML/HOUSPVILLayout.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.housing.purdue.edu/HTML/HOUSPVILLayout.htm</a>
The first diagram is the apartment type designated for undergrads, the type I was assigned to.

I think you might find some advantages to having two roomies. One is that you have a bigger selection - if you don't get along with one of them, you might be friends with the other!

Which room do you think you'll all sleep in? The "living room" or the "bedroom" (which I notice only has two closets - so it must have been designed for two)?

I think that you'll find it feels like home pretty fast. Good luck!

Haha, thanks for the optimism Weenie I never looked at it that way before =)

I really don't know about that bedroom question......how I see it is that one of us will probably be sleeping in the living room anyways even if the bedromo is big enough for 3.......we'll probably have to discuss this amngst ourselves when we get each other's contacts

weenie: Are you a prospective student, or are you/been at Purdue?

sonic:
No, I am a mom of a kid who will probably be looking at Purdue for engineering. He will be a senior this fall. Housing concerns us moms!!! ;)
