D is excited she got Aubie Hall.

My D did not get into Aubie but is excited about Plainsman. She had to email housing to get the information. They said the package was mailed out yesterday.

It seems like the few slots for the Village were in Aubie, Plainsman and Eagle. Looks like a whole bunch of honors got stuck in the Hill Dorms. What day did you make your deposit? Ours was Oct 22nd.

Didn’t make deposit til mid April. D’s a NAF. We were surprised she got in The Village. I think you are correct a FB friend of hers, a NHS, was placed at The Hill. I have no idea when she made her deposit but I’ll try to find out.

D got her housing assignment yesterday. She will be living in the Quad( Broun). She was hoping to get into Aubie, but I thought she would most likely end up in the Quad( her second choice). Our housing deposit date was late November.

Is your D participating in one of the Learning Communities? I know that some of them have their housing in the Village.

Dadto3

She did mistakenly apply for a Learning Community but was told she could not do both. She is in the Honors College. She told me one of her suitemates is in a Learning Community.

S is in Upper Quad (Broun) and will be rooming with a HS friend. He is both Honors and in the Engineering Learning Community. Initially he was in the Village but since he decided to room with his friend I guess both loss priority there.

Quad will be fine, much closer to his classes and less expensive.

D in Aubie – applied in Oct and went potluck, since at the time D didn’t know anyone at Auburn. She didn’t join learning community, but was placed in suite with some other NMFs, one other OOS.

Just returned from CWE, interesting experience for both student & parent. happy to answer questions about this if anyone has any.

RE: freshmen in Village – I did run into a mom whose D was placed in Talon – she said her daughter applied really early and evidently coordinated her suite mate choices as well. Also ran into A LOT of kids with no housing – no apts. no dorm room, nothing. At the end of CWE, there was a business fair with all kinds of off-campus housing reps. As of Friday, there were vacancies at Cambridge, Wittel, and several of the apt. complexes.

Thanks audellmom, your opinion please, Is it wise to bring my oldest d (a junior in college) with us to CWE? I think she’d be bored and uninterested but she wants to attend.

@Dadto3 I called about the learning community and D was placed in one she was told she could not live in the Honors Dorm and with the L.C. Getting info from my D is like pulling teeth.

Ny2vamom:
D will be bored, but all the events are optional, so she can definitely do anything – take a tour or a walk around campus, go shopping, etc.

Sent from my Eris using CC App

Thank You.

Any idea on how to get the contact names for the suite mates if your staying at the Quad. My S only has the info on the one sharing the room with him and would like to meet the others.

Call housing, that’s your best bet, since they aren’t really in the same room.
