I applied for campus housing and it says they received all of my paperwork and fees and whatnot on May 18, and ever since then, on my room assignment it says "no rooms found"...does that mean theres no more dorms available, or that they havent made the assignment yet? I was thinking the assignment would be done electronically automatically after all of the paperwork was received...

also additional question: is it guaranteed that if i select on my roommate preferences a non smoking roommate that i will definitely get one? because im extremely allergic to cigarette smoke and get extreme anaphylaxis even when i can barely smell it (ie, just a little bit on clothes, hair, etc)...the doctor said my reaction is getting worse and the next time i might not even have enough time to use the epi-pen

It just means they haven’t assigned rooms yet. I sent my stuff in in January. I got an email saying they will be starting today, but if I were you I wouldn’t hold my breath. I don’t know if it’s guaranteed but when you get your assignment and if you find out that they do smoke, just contact housing and tell them the situation and have the doctor write some type of note and im sure they will give you a room change because its a medical reason.

if your roommate smokes, you can change rooms. I would reccommend talking to you RA when you move in and letting him/her know about your situation. that way he/she will know that they actually need to be strict with following that rule, rather than just looking the other way or something… not saying they WOULD do that, but some RA’s are more lenient than others about rules and stuff.

Same here, I sent in my stuff Febrary-ish and I didn’t get the email about assignments today yet.
