Housing Assignments

Are the assignments sent before Sept 1? My daughter is getting antsy…

It does seem later this year...

I remember them telling my daughter last year that she would find out around Labor Day. It seems to me that it was right around that time. My daughter hasn't heard anything yet for this year.

It's hard to wait, especially when most of their friends are getting ready to leave and they haven't even found out where/who they will be living with! Tell her to hang in there!

In my group at orientation, we were told that we'd probably find out shortly after Labor Day.

I received an e-mail last week for my statement of account and it said that the correct fee for the rooms and meal plan should be billed on or after August 17th.

So, possibly anywhere from early next week until three weeks from now seems like a reasonable timeframe. ...except it doesn't seem so reasonable because everyone else is either gone or leaving or going back to high school all within that three week period.

my son got billed for the max for housing and dining ,and he requested south campus w/corrider bath does anybody know why ? will this change ?

Don't worry; it's temporary. Everyone is billed the max estimate right now, I think so that the majority of people see the bill go down on/around August 17, when they put the real room/board rates.

August 17 is the target date for us to find out our REAL room and board costs.

UPDATE Noon 8/17/08

Interesting. If you follow the links to Pay Fees, Pay/View Views, log in, yadda yadda, it eventually shows you your official statement of account. And they've credited back all the "max rm/brd rate." Which must mean they're about ready to replace it with the REAL room and board rates!

my son got into park hall anybody know anything about it? what do you think the policy is for a 3 person room with bunkbeds and one single bed? he will be arriving early for todd bell program. will he get the single bed since he arrives first or should he contact his roommates first?

Fancy, my DS is also in Park Hall with two others. Go here to see how many people are supposed to be in the room:

University Housing : Halls

DS is in a room with two others and the information in the link above says his room should only hold two. I'm not happy if they're cramming kids into the rooms like this.

When you go to the above link the top should say Columbus Housing - South, and just look for his room number in the drop down window.

First come, first served, so your DS gets his pick if he arrives first. If he (or you) contacted the others, it would only lead to confusion. When my older DS got to school first, he took the bottom bunk but told his roomie he would switch when they returned from Christmas break. That worked out well for them.

As stated in other conversation:

From what I've seen from my fellow freshmen, yes, it appears they are definitely cramming.

My room is listed as a 2-person, but magically there are now bunked beds in the place of the normal beds... Gofigure.

I'm hearing lots of reports of these magical appearing bunked beds...

C'est la vie, I suppose.

About the choosing which bed... Obviously, you don't want to make a bad impression to start. If there is some kind of disagreement about it, rotating seems like a great way to make sure everyone gets along alright. First impressions go a long way. :-)
