Housing Assignments

What assignment did you get?

--I got Turman East. (not happy about that)

I got Means.

I got Turman North... What's wrong with Turman?

dont be upset about turman. they say its out of the way, but the shuttles are really nice, plus i believe the rooms are bigger and everyone in turman ends up getting really close. i'd have preferred turman over ls i think (except for the no sinks thing)

longstreet.
this hall is coed by room right?

longstreet last year was coed by hall...one side is guys, other girls, bottom floor all guys top floor all girls

This year its coed by room.

heyy im in alabama

yay for COMPLEX! smith...by the way vtoodler...where did you graduate from...I went to Ladue

Turman East - VToddler we have to talk - PLEASE any pros/cons about Turman East (besides the con that it's too far from center campus). Also, I know there's girls/guys on the same floor, but is it boy/girl/boy/girl or is it one wing boys and one wing girls on the same floor?

Input appreciated.

i'm in longstreet, top floor... not sure what to think about that... i've heard mixed things about ls

stressedpsycho, you're on longstreet top floor too?
so am i. are you on facebook?

lily, it's me... alex hahahah

hahahah. i just cracked up for like five minutes.
stop stressing about longstreet! it's going to be fine.

My older sister used to live in a dorm that was really close to the DUC... the name has forsaken me however... All I know is that it was co-ed by floor...

: alabama - mostly scholars, central campus, big rooms, small hall (like 2 floors only)
: mctyrie - usually really snooty kids, big but old, a lot of people (big hall), good location
: dobbs - central campus, very very small rooms, big hall, usually filled with people who are very last minute cuz it's usually the last dorm left
: complex (hopkins thomas and smith) - big rooms, far from central campus but close to bschool and library, well equipted with gym and etc, big big hall a lot of people, known to be more nerdy and smart, i lived there and loved it
: trimble - right next to mctyrie, same as mctyrie
: turman - far but good shuttle service (one every 2-5 minutes), good complex a lot of people, newer than the others, close to clairmont campus so therefore more upperclassmen
: that's the breakdown
: i'd try to go for complex or alabama
: and then proabably turman
: but try to steer clear of mctyrie trimble or dobbs
: you won't like it i can guarantee it
: so clairmont campus is where upperclassmen live
: it's all the emory owned apartments
: and it has a really nice activities center, kinda looks like a country club
: turman is right in between main campus (where all classes and most freshmen dorms are) and clairmont

PS I got Means 305 and transferred into Hopkins 333 (without changing roommie)
And the Coed by floor / room or single sex changes every year ^^

yea, i'm a rising 2nd year at Emory and I can tell you that while Dobbs is great for central location the size of the room really sucks. Although the dorm is really close knit cuz people use the open door policy alot.
