Housing Assignments

Well just like every corporation that expanded too fast, NYU is going to crash and burn and John Sexton gets away scot free while the value of our degrees plummets. Ugh.

46 hours…

Of course NYU Housing is late. This can only mean one thing though-they have good news for me. They’re only on time or early when they’re delivering bad news.

What a surprise? Housing sucks. I was supposed to hear today, but they never got back to me.

Me neither. I’m going to march down to 383 Lafayette at the end of class and demand an answer. If they don’t give me satisfaction, I’m getting big cheeses involved. I’ve already drafted an email. Just have to push send. And if that doesn’t work, I’ll just have to get NYDOH involved, won’t I?

They said the woman that does room changes is still working on them. Well I’ll give her until the end of business today. If I don’t see a satisfactory email from housing by 5, I’m getting Student Affairs involved. I’ve had enough.

Well I still didn’t get mine. Did you future?

They told me tomorrow. I’m waiting until noon. At maximum, end of business tomorrow. After that, I’m going straight up to student affairs.

I hope they’re not thinking they’ll just delay, delay and delay until half the people drop their requests, we’re not that stupid. It just makes us all more and more and more angry. Some will give up obviously, but if they think I’ll give up even for one second, they’re sadly mistaken. I’m keeping it active until I get satisfaction. If it means keeping it open until the day before graduation, so be it.

That’s it, I’m escalating it. I’m not living in a room I’m allergic to. If they can’t put me in another room, that’s too bad, I want my money back. I paid housing $13k and I expect a certain standard of living and they have a DUTY to provide a certain standard of living.

UGH!! I didn’t get the room I want either.

Did you get a room at all?

There’s no way in hell I’m living in this room for the rest of the year, it’s making me sick, it’s detrimental to my grades, and I have serious concerns for my personal safety. And yes, the Detention Center a block away and the 3 robberies absolutely have something to do with it. If security bothered to write up a memo about it, it’s gotta be a serious issue. They’ll either give me a new room in a new building or give me my money back so I can live off campus.

No, I didn’t get a room. They were like sorry blah blah blah. So i’m stuck here for this semester until someone goes abroad or something. This place is like hell and it smells like it too.

I’m like sorry doesn’t cut it. Find me a new room or give me my money back or pay for a room off campus. I got a meeting with the RHD tomorrow morning. Telling someone very high up that you feel your needs are being ignored and you have no trust in routine housing procedure to address your needs might help. Sometimes, you gotta play hardball with them. I’d wait another week before I emailbomb someone very high up though, this is your first week. I made it very clear to the head honchos at both student affairs and housing that I’ll accept nothing short of a room transfer to another building.

I already have a dozen leads for off campus housing if it comes to that (moving out of housing).

What makes me more angry than anything is that it seems like the only person that gives a damn that I’m getting bitten to death by whatever it is that’s biting me to death is me. Anyways, I’m just gonna keep at it. Maybe, MAYBE someone at central housing will give a damn.

It sucks, future, that you’re being treated this way. NYU isn’t always the best when it comes to making the student happy. I don’t know why they ever answer the phone, because once you get to someone on the line, they often don’t help you.

God, still feeling itchy. I don’t even know why I even come back to my room anymore.

I wonder if they will let me out of my housing contract. I want to get the f out of this place.

Go up on the roof and threaten to jump off unless someone writes you a check for the amount of a refund right then and there. Easiest way to get out of housing. PM me if you decide to get out of housing. Plenty of 2 bedrooms on the market for in the $2k-$2.5k range. Maybe if you bug them enough they’ll let you out just to make you go away.

I’m just kidding.

Who knows, nyu, my horoscope seems to be positive (except it’s telling me I’ll be impulsive and imprudent-not that I haven’t been for the past 3 weeks-I’m guessing that means I’m going shopping this week-I was planning to-men’s sale at Macy’s herald square  ). It’s telling me there will be a “change for the better”. Maybe third time’s the charm.
