i got my email today with my housing assignment. anyone else?

Yeah I just got mine this morning as well… im on the 13th floor of Jones in a single with my own bathroom… pretty cool, although it would have been kinda cool to have a roommate.

dd’s friend went through the RA process and wasn’t hired. She requested the same dorm as her backup housing assignment. She was assigned the same room and same roommate from last year! She didn’t hate the room or the roomie but didn’t like her that much either (no similar interests, hogged the common space…even moving in at the crack of dawn to reclaim at breaks!..slept all day…

I was also surprised last year to hear that students from the same highschool had been assigned to be roommates…Don’t you think if they had wanted to room together, they would have requested it?

This case seems the same…other than the RA thing, they would have requested to room together if they had wanted it to stay the same? Do you think she has a case to ask for a room assignment?

D got into Lincoln Tower, which she wouldn’t have minded if she had one roommate, but she has three. She was not happy about that, but has already been talking to two of them on Facebook and says they are both very nice and they have a lot in common.

My d had to ask for Paterson for the Pharmacy program. Got an end room for 4- but it looks like they have their own bathroom!

Susanr…that happened to my dd’s friend last year. It’s a temporary overflow situation and not all the rooms in her suite had 4 so not 16 sharing the common space. She applied for a transfer and moved a few weeks later. one of the roomies was really hateful and it was a tight squeeze…felt she had nowhere to get comfy and didn’t like the tower’s location anyway.

Susanr, I lived in Lincoln last year, and it seemed like nearly half of all freshman were in quads rather than doubles, so your D’s situation isn’t uncommon. The girls in the quad within my suite all got along, although I think if there are personality issues the close quarters don’t improve the situation. Having a large common room helps with the space issue.

My best advice for girls in quads is to limit the clothing and shoes they bring. Having too much stuff can make a small bedroom seem impossibly cramped. You may also want to consider packing small stackable shelves for on top of the built-in shelves above the desk, and possibly seeing if a printer could be shared between two or all of the girls, to save desk space.

I got assigned to Morrill Tower in a four person suite in a ten person cluster. Has anyone lived in this type of situation, or has pictures? Perhaps can explain how it is?

this is what your room will look like amortenti. as for the rest of the cluster. there will be three more rooms like this except only two students per room, a bathroom that the ten of you will share and a sitting room. hope that helps
