Hello Guys! I was recently admitted as a business major, emphasis on Marketing. I wanted to start this thread to discuss who is housing at chapman and anything that involves living in the dorms!

Congratulations Arang101 on your acceptance into Chapman! I just check the internet and found the following info regarding dorms to get you started. Have a great time at the NOT TO BE MISSED Orientation week at the end of August; two years ago it was a very exciting time in my son’s life and a milestone for us all. Thie first day of Orientation week is when you first move into your dorm room.

FENESTRA RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITIES

<a href=“Page Not Found | Chapman University”>Page Not Found | Chapman University;

All first year students are housed together in our residence halls. The word Fenestra means window in Latin and through Fenestra communities students will be able to take advantage of the many windows of opportunity that Chapman has to offer. The Fenestra communities are designed to support first year students’ successful transition into the college environment and the Chapman community. Most first year students who are living on campus will be assigned by academic content in one of our first year halls. These Fenestra communities benefit students because it allows for an improved learning experience and stronger connections between peers with similar academic interests.

First year students are assigned to residence halls in the Fenestra Learning Communities by their academic program. On the Chapman U Office of Admission’s Tumblr website they stated that there will probably be no change from last year where freshman majors will be housed. You can click on link below to download table showing where your academic program will be housed:

Recently I saw on the Chapman U Office of Admission’s Tumblr website the following questions that were asked and answered plus I put down other info including dorm room microwave/refrigerator information:

Q: If you have been accepted off the waitlist what do you do now? How long is it before you can access the housing app?

A: You should be able to go and make your enrollment deposit and housing deposit right away. When you make your housing deposit you’ll have access to the housing survey. Find out the steps here:

Q:Ok so the meal plan is INCLUDED in the housing cost?

A: Correct

Click on red text “Housing rates” on this page to get dorm rates for the specific room and board options:

Q: Are we allowed to use tape on our dorm walls?

A: On the housing website is says specifically do not bring:
Tape, pushpins, or nails for walls

Dorm room microwave/refrigerator information:

Microfridges: Students often find that a microfridge is a must for their residence hall room. The microfridge compact refrigerator/freezer/microwave oven combo unit offered by Affordable Installations meets all our size, safety and electrical requirements and is approved for use in our student room’s on-campus.

Order a microfridge here after discussing it with your roommates on line so that it will be in your room when you get there:

Does anyone know yet where Dodge College freshmen will be housed?

@sukahjoy (or anyone else who might know)-- I already read The Guide to Moving into Residential Communities at Chapman University, so I already know about the microwave/refrigerator combos you can get. I also saw that there are lounges in each dorm that have TVs. But it doesn’t say if there are any “kitchen-type” amenities in the lounges or anywhere in the dorms. Some of the schools we visited had a lounge on each floor that had a big sink for washing dishes (better than the bathroom sink) and a microwave for all to use. Can’t remember if Chapman was one of the schools that had that…we toured so many. Anyone know?
