How is freshman housing at Georgetown?
is it always 2 to a room and what are the best and worst dorms to get

Yes, always two to a room (there are truly exceptional circumstances in which this doesn’t hold, but it’s generally true). All the dorms have their advantages and disadvantages and people tend to be very loyal to their dorms. That said, I think Harbin is the best and Village C is the worst, but I’m hopelessly biased.

Harbin => New South > Village C > Darnall imo

I guess it doesn’t matter which are best since you can’t choose (unless you opt for a living-learning community or a single sex floor), but I think Harbin is best and Darnall is the worst. I’m biased because I live in Harbin, but New South does have bigger rooms and changing rooms in the shower rooms, which I would much appreciate. Harbin has decently big rooms, clusters (a group of 8 rooms/16 roommates who share a bathroom and shower), and is close to many things. I can walk to the dining hall or class or even work in 3-5 minutes with few exceptions, and my particular room has a nice view of Rosslyn, Va. People living in Village C do have their own bathrooms, but their rooms aren’t so nice. Darnall is far from everything except for a few academic buildings and the Leavey Center, but the rooms aren’t too terrible compared to dorms at other schools - they’re just small.

I have heard each freshman dorm has it’s pluses and minuses! One of my friends is in Darnall this year, the “worst” freshman dorm, and she loves it! We don’t have any say in the matter anyways, so instead of getting yourself all riled up and trying to pick a preferred dorm right now, just know that you will probably end up loving where ever you end up!
