I have not been able to visit and I think I'm finally deciding to attend ISU for my freshmen year. What would be the best housing options considering I really do want to focus on school work but also have fun every now and then. I'm applying late for housing so I probably won't get my first choice (idk if it works that way: where you have your first 2nd and 3rd choice), but a nice few choices would really help.

Since you are going for engineering (I saw that on a previous post), you might want to live in Union Drive (west side of campus) area, which is closer to all the engineering buildings.

Its a nice building, but also one of the most expansive. Sometimes there is less of a community atmosphere compared to the older dorms with community bathrooms. 3rd floor is an honors floor if you are a member of that and 4th floor has the party floor reputation.

Friley, Eaton, or Martin are the best for engineer students because they are close to engineering buildings and UDCC (dining hall) The other options is Maple, Willow, larch which is on the other side of campus but is close to the rec center. Also they are currently doing construction on new rec facility on the west side of campus by Friley. Not sure when it will get done, but when it does that side of campus will be the place to be.

Thanks for the reassurances. DD will be a CS student in the fall on the WiSE floor in Martin. She has already “met” her roommate and suitemates on FB. We were wondering about the rec facility under construction. I thought that I had read somewhere that it was to be completed by next fall.
