housing at pitt; honors college; and pittstart

undecided engineering major. can anyone tell me which'll be the better option - forbes (SPACE) or towers? I would like to meet different types of people with different majors so towers might be ideal, but i would also like to be able to have engineering majors around with whom i can study. Any advise? Also how exactly does one know if they have been admitted to the honors college. I have pretty solid stats but i never heard anything. Oh and its a long drive from where i live so i'm thinking of registering for a pittstart session in August so i won't have to come back. Would i be able to get my classes that late? Okie thank you!! :)

Don’t know about dorms but you would’ve known shortly after acceptance (by mail) if you were admitted as a freshman into the honors college and would’ve been invited to honors students admitted day. But you can take honors classes upon permission after you established a 3.25 or above GPA so the main thing you’ll miss is living in the honors dorm (Sutherland) and it sounds like you don’t want to live there anyway.

When my son registered for classes, engineering had a list of classes where they held spots open for engineering majors. Of course, the most desirable times went early. You might not get the schedule you want but you probably will be able to get all the classes you need. Engineering advising is great :)
