Can anyone describe the housing at Wellesley for me? I haven't visited yet but I've heard that the dorms are great. Thanks~

The dorms are OK at wellesley, but the amazing campus definitely compensates for that. If you're looking for great dorms, go to Bryn Mawr, those were the best dorms I saw of the schools I visited. (I visited A LOT of schools).

I overnighted for two nights with two different people. The first room I was in had three people. It had a large common room and then one large bedroom...PLENTY of space and gorgeous (it was in some sort of tower) and the second night I stayed in a room that my hostess refered to as "the worst room you can possibly get". It was one room, smaller, but there was still a lot of room and a huge walk in closet. I think that it's varied. On the plus side though, after soph year most people get singles (or so my host told me).

hey, i did an overnight as well. i think my dorm was freeman. it's really not bad at all. the rooms are probably average sized for a college, but they're really comfortable. and (probably since it's an all-girl's school) the bathrooms are always clean, which is a great plus.

campus is really pretty. wow, getting a view of their giant lake is so amazing. but at night the place reminded me of some nightmarish van gogh painting (yeah, my artist's mind working here). wind whistling through tall grasses, a little scary.

I saw several Wellesley dorms on a walk about and thought they were very well maintained, comfortable and convienent. Like Smith, Bryn Mawr and a few other residential LACs upperclassmen seem to be able to get a single and that can be a plus. Of course particularly with freshman year, the roommate can be a deciding factor on how wonderful a dorm room is.

starting sophomore yr you can pick your roommate.
