Does anyone know whether W&M provides housing the night before pre-orientation trips? My son will be flying in the night before his backpacking trip because he cannot get to Williamsburg early enough (check-in is 8-10am) on the 17th. Will there be somewhere for him to sleep on campus, or do I need to find a hotel room for him?

It’s doubtful that W&M can provide housing since the only summer beds we make available are to summer school students and they’re likely full. You can contact whichever office is leading the trip whether it’s the Office of Community Engagement and Scholarship or the Rec Sports office but a hotel is likely the way to go. The Hospitality House is across the street from campus so it’s the easiest to stay at.

W&M Admissions,

Thanks…I took your advice and booked a room at the Hospitality House for my son. He is very excited about coming to W&M and the outdoors orientation trip just adds to his joy!

great. Glad to hear plans are falling into place

After he arrives at the Ho House, he can walk down the street to the College Delly for a great sub. My favorite - a hot Holly.

We did a hotel stay the night before. They don’t have all the kinks worked out of this, since we are from out of state and wanted to attend the orientation later in the week, so we hung around and visited family locally as well, but they should let these kids stash stuff in their actual semester rooms before the trip…they couldn’t offer that last year.
