Housing came in the mail today!

I didn't get my first 2 choices...New or North doubles w/sink, but I did get my 3rd choice New double.

I'm happy :) Anyone else get theirs today?

Not yet! Do you live close to USC? I live 45 minutes away, so I'll probably get mine soon.

I'm about 30 minutes away. The postage was dated the 26th

yup! birnkrant double! - first choice!

I got it. Marks Hall (RHP) :)

Yup, I got mine today. I guess the mail came late, or my parents forgot to tell me that there was USC stuff in the mail. Postmarked May 26.

I got my first choice. I sent it in early March, and I picked a less popular dorm (Marks Hall), so it was pretty much guaranteed for me.

i got 6 person suite at parkside which i thought i wouldnt get after sending it mid april

i didn't get any of my choices! *I sent in my housing in mid april though so I think that's probably why! I could have sent in my housing in the beginning of february, but I didn't know you were allowed to send it without already having your enrollment in. I got marks tower, the rooms look pretty small. What have you heard about it guys?

i was told from a freshman at USC not to chose either marks hall or marks tower in my housing app...i forgot which one she was talking about

another question...does anyone know the difference between the Parkside International Residential College and just living at Parkside Suites?

i was told to stay out of trojan hall and marks hall and not to take the bait of a 'deans' hall. I guess hopefully reputations change each year and it will be more social next year than it had been in the past.

marks hall is an honors dorm, so even though the building sucks it's a good community i suppose. but i don't think marks tower has anything going for it. does it?

Well, I haven't gotten my contract yet (live in Nor-Cal; takes about two days to get mail from LA), but I have recieved e-mails asking if I would like to apply to the Latino floors, which means that I got into Fluor Tower. Wasn't my 1st-3rd choice, but eh. It actually works out well for me cuz I got my parking permit at PSB, so it balances out kinda nicely. Anyone know how the atmosphere is at Fluor? If it's boring, I'll make it un-boring!

yeah that's my logic too if it's a boring dorm i guess i gotta go in and make it un-boring!

Nice logic!

I live in Hawaii and my contract came in quite a few days ago. I got a double in an 8 person suite in Parkside Suites. I wanted a single... because I talk in my sleep... its awful lol... but eh, double is fine. Hopefully I'll get a good roommate who sleeps like a rock. :)

Got it here today on the East Coast. I forgot which number it was on my preference list, but I got Parkside 6 person Double suite.

I received it in the mail today, got a triple at Radisson. It wasn't on my list of preferences at all O__O Anyone know what it's like there?

I still can't believe they are doing triples at the Radisson now. That's not fun. Then again, the rooms are much larger than dorm rooms, so it works out.

I lived in the Radi my freshman year. It's definitely not the most social place. A lot of it depends on the people you live around obviously (My floor wasn't very close, but I know some that were really good friends, and they loved their time there). There aren't going to be wild parties, or obvious drinking, because there is still hotel staff there, but people still drink in their rooms. Obviously, accomodation-wise, the Radisson is the best, with larger rooms, your own bathroom, maid service, room service if you want to pay the extra bucks, a pool, gym, etc. I loved the bed with a passion, but this next year they are switching the hotel furniture out for dorm furniture, so you won't get the nice, big beds.

So, basically, if you want a social time, work hard, because it definitely can be done, but it's not going to be like New/North.

I got north business floor, pretty happy about it.

Oh, and as far as Marks Hall goes- I don't know anyone who lives there, but I do know a lot of people in Trojan Hall, the other honors dorm. Basically, there's not going to be a lot of partying there. Buuuuut, a lot of people placed there aren't in honors, so you will find people that want to party. In Trojan Hall, the guys I know (the RA recruited like his entire floor to join our co-ed service frat) were really close and had a lot of fun together. So, you'll probably meet a lot of non-social people there, but if you are looking for more, you can definitely meet some awesome people (and those that love to party, too).

As far as Marks Tower goes, it's probably the least social of the regular dorms. But once again, it's what you make of it, and it's still in a good location, so it's not too shabby.

Everyone just keep the logic of going in and making it un-boring! You'll love it.
